The Tornado
The Tornado (トルネード Torunēdo?) is Skyrider's transformation belt and can give off the Super Light Wave (スーパーライトウェーブ Sūpā Raito Wēbu?) from the Tornado. Skyrider can perform the Sailing Jump (セイリングジャンプ Seiringu Janpu?) flight ability using the Gravity Reduction Equipment (重力低減装置 Jūryoku Teigen Sōchi?) system on his belt. Like his predecessors, this belt is powered by wind. The Tornado can also emit a bright flash used in the Super Lightwave attack.

Sky Turbo

Kamen Ride Skyrider (カメンライドスカイライダー Kamen Raido Sukairaidā?) is the Kamen Ride Card which contains the power of Skyrider. In All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker, Decade Complete Form Jumbo Formation performed the Final Dimension Kick, a variation of the Dimension Kick, transforming the Shōwa Riders, including Skyrider, and Heisei Riders into Kamen Ride cards for Decade to travel through as opposed to Final Attack Ride cards before hitting the target.

In theory, this card would allow Kamen Rider Decade to transform into Skyrider.

KAMEN RIDER SKYRIDER (1979-1980) - CHARACTER

Hiroshi Tsukuba

(筑波 洋 Tsukuba Hiroshi) is a young man who hang glides for fun and studied karate under Ryoichi Miyoshi. Three years prior, he lost his parents and sister in a car crash. Soon after, Tsukuba finds his friends have been all murdered for his meddling before being approached by Midori Kanō, who takes him to Shido as the man informs Tsukuba of the terrorist organization Neo-Shocker.

While finding Imata Tonda snooping around Shido's safe house, Tsukuba finds the scientist abducted by Gameleojin, the monster who murdered his friends. But when the pursuit resulted with Tsukuba critically wounded, Shido by convinces General Monster, who realized the young man's potential, to allow him to convert Hiroshi into a cyborg. Coming to, Hiroshi wanders out of the NeoShocker complex and learns of his new nature before he accidentally transforms into SkyRider. Using his new found ability, SkyRider destroys Gameleojin and embraced his new-found existence as a means to stop Neo-Shocker's evil. To keep a low profile in his search for Neo-Shocker's base, Tsukuba founded the Shido Hang Glide Club with Shido.

Eventually, after Neo-Shocker Plus-Alpha Bomb on Tokyo, Shido takes his leave without warning to join the Anti-Neo-Shocker Commitee overseas. Kamen Rider Skyrider
JAPAN 1979 - 1980
Episode Count: 54
Air Date: October 05, 1979 - October 10, 1980

Kamen Rider (仮面ライダー Kamen Raidā, Masked Rider in English) is a Japanese tokusatsu television series. It is the sixth program in the Kamen Rider Series. It has the same name as the first series in the franchise, and fans usually refer to this series asThe New Kamen Rider (新しい仮面ライダー Atarashī Kamen Raidā?) or Skyrider (スカイライダー Sukairaidā?) (after the main character) in order to distinguish it from the original. The series was broadcast on TBS from October 5, 1979 to October 10, 1980, lasting 54 episodes. The series was a co-production between Toeiand Ishinomori Productions, and was created by Shotaro Ishinomori. It aired every Saturday at 7:00 PM.

The New Kamen Rider was intended as a revival of the original Kamen Rider, going back to the basic, essential themes established in that series, as opposed to the more complex and unique series that preceded it, such as Kamen Rider Amazon and Kamen Rider Stronger.

Story
Doctor Keitarō Shido, an acclaimed scientist, has been kidnapped by the terrorist organization Neo-Shocker in order to exploit his expertise in robotics technology. Desperate to escape, he convinces Neo-Shocker command to allow him to operate on an injured camper. Explaining that he can turn the camper, Hiroshi Tsukuba into a powerful Neo-Shocker warrior, they allow Doctor Shido to operate. However, he quickly turns the tables on them, transforming Hiroshi not into an evil kaijin, but into the powerful warrior Skyrider, using his new found abilities to combat the evil Neo-Shocker menace.

Skyrider
Unlike the original Kamen Riders who are based on grasshoppers Skyrider is based on a locust. As the name implies, Skyrider could fly via an ability called Sailing Jump and the first Kamen Rider who could fly. Originally Hiroshi Tsukaba said "Henshin" to transform but starting in episode 35 he says "Sky Henshin". Like Riders 1, 2, and V3, Skyrider is wind powered through his "Tornado" henshin belt.

He is also one of the most powerful of the Kamen Riders, having passed a survival test that involved being struck by the Rider Kicks of all his predecessors.

For the first 19 episodes of New Kamen Rider the hero is known as "Kamen Rider", but in episode 20 Kamen Rider Stronger addresses him as "Skyrider". All of the previous Kamen Riders call him Skyrider and the Neo-Shocker kaijin do so as well after episode 20.

Techniques
At first Skyrider has only two special combat techniques, "Sky Kick" and "Sky Punch". He also the special power, "Sky Drill", using his hand to drill through solid rock. Using his motorycle Sky Turbo he can smash through walls with "Sky Break". In episode 21 Kamen Rider Stronger helps Skyrider to learn "Revolving Sky Kick". After the charge up Skyrider gains "Mid-air Sky Kick", "Gun Drop", "Sky Screw Kick", "Rider Spin", "Sky Chop", Sky Flying Saucer", "Sky Double Kick" etc.

WizarDragon
The WizarDragon (ウィザードラゴン Wizādoragon?) is the form ofHaruto's inner Phantom Dragon (ドラゴン, Doragon) after he managed to hold on when he was in deep despair and push it back inside. Haruto usually keeps this Phantom inside him, which allows him the ability to perform magic. But when inside someone's Underworld, or when fighting particularly powerful Phantoms, Haruto summons his Phantom to aid him in battle with the Dragorise Wizard Ring.

Because of the Dragon's nature as a Phantom, and tendency to attack him, Haruto must attach the Machine Winger onto it in order to tame it. If this is not done, the WizarDragon will rampage, causing more harm than good. If released in an Underworld and not tamed quickly, the WizarDragon could quickly create a new Phantom, shown when the Dragon's attacks were just as effective at causing damage in Rinko's Underworld as her inner Phantom, Jabberwock, was.

But when the taming is successful, it results in a formation called

Winger WizarDragon (ウィンガーウィザードラゴン Wingā Wizādoragon?). This version is not only loyal to Haruto, but has more powerful wings, and thus a faster flight speed.

When the Kick Strike Ring is used while on the Winger WizarDragon, the spell turns the Winger WizarDragon into a giant boot call Strike Phase (ストライクフェーズ, Sutoraiku Fēzu) with the sole being in the shape of a dragon's footprint for a combination attack of Strike Wizard Kick and Strike Phase call Strike End (ストライクエンド, Sutoraiku Endo), where a projection of Wizard is seen pushing a massive dragon claw mark towards its target.

When in Dragon Form, WizarDragon power now can be summon in real world, where previously WizarDragon power only can be used in Underworld.

PlaMonsters
The PlaMonsters (プラモンスター Puramonsutā) are familiars created from plastic models that are given life through the use of the Wizard Rings.

They are first summoned by Wizard using their respective Rings, where they lay in assorted pieces on a tray. They then put themselves together and Wizard inserts the Rings into their bodies to keep them active.

However, PlaMonsters have a limited amount of energy, and when it's used up, they disappear and leave behind their respective Wizard Ring to be summoned again.

First three PlaMonsters

Red Garuda

The Red Garuda (レッドガルーダ Reddo Garūda?) PlaMonster is a bird-like familiar. It is used to perform aerial reconnaissance. It is powered by the Garuda Ring.

The WizarDriver is the mystical device that enables Haruto Sohma to unlock the powers of the Wizard Rings, allowing him to transform into Kamen Rider Wizard or perform various magical abilities. By wearing a Transformation Ring on the left hand and swinging it across the Grimoire Stone (グリモワールストーンGurimowāru Sutōn?) held within the Hand Author (ハンドオーサー Hando Ōsā?), Haruto transforms into Kamen Rider Wizard.

By using one of the Shift Levers (シフトレバー Shifuto Rebā?) to switch the position of the Hand Author, Kamen Rider Wizard can use a Magic Ring worn on his right hand to initiate one of his many magical spells.

In all instances of using a magical power, the belt announces "Please!" (プリーズ! Purīzu!?) through the Spell Enchanter (スペルエンチャンター Superu Enchantā?) speaker.

When not transformed, the WizarDriver appears as an ordinary belt with a hand-shaped buckle, though it retains the ability to utilize any Magic Ring.
